first, off.. congrats!! it's always nice to get a little recognition...

i've loved that "intense" pic ever since i first saw it. just perfect with the hair across the face, kind of a tossled mess, the expression, the hands, composition, tones, contrast. spot on.

halloween I: great isolation with the dof, and there's something so endearing about kids in costumes... it brings me back to that time myself. it's so fun to play with your identity!

halloween II: i actually like this one a little better.. the only thing i like better than a pic of a kid in a costume is that same kid in an urban setting. there's something about the discontinuity of it all, the juxtaposition. the slighly soft door/wall, the exaggerated shoulders, and the pumpkin all come together so well.

all of the portraits are very well done... excellent control of light and the expressions on the kids are honest and genuine.

old and young: nice comp. simple layout in the frame. everything works towards the picture. including the light source brings it together.

the birth pics bring me back there myself.. hard to believe it was over 3 years ago already! we're up early here getting ready to go to the first day of dance class!

you must feel chuffed about the award(s), and you should! you've got some very nice entries.

Well deserved. Love your top few portraits, beautiful B&W tones, perfect choice for the subject matter. All are award worthy--but you knew that already! Congrats!
